Stop Talking! I Need My Coffee First! Houston
I don’t know about you, but when I’m surrounded by traffic and tall buildings in a huge city; I need some coffee to make it through the day. Which coffee shops should I go to?! Luckily, Houston has a few unique places that don’t make me want to scream, “You Starbucks Knockoff!” Vintage, Traditional, Original, each one these words is the mantra of these swanky coffee-spots.
As always, there may be some affiliate links that provide me with some money if you click on them or purchase something. Not many, but I want you to have the ability to buy premium beans/brews without having to search far; Enjoy!
I’m not saying you need to stay awake, but if you do Boomtown is where it’s at. This spectacular Heights coffee shop creates each slow-roasted batch in house. Coupled with local art spread throughout the white interior, you will find every young professional scrambling to be the first one there in the morning. Come in for their tacos and coffee, leave with a new hubspot.
This coffee shop feels like you stepped back into the 70’s. Vintage couches, exquisite art decorum, and crazy-colored patio furniture litter this location; bringing back the love of the era. If you need a quick wake-up call, order their namesake: The Antidote; start your day off right.

Black Hole Coffee
If your looking for the ideal date spot, or even a networking center to host events, this is the place to be. Black Hole’s atmosphere reminded me of sitting at a library, talking with small groups of friends while doing research projects. Very laid-back, filled with booze and potential friends describes this spot perfectly.
Despite the name, I couldn’t rush into this coffee spot fast enough. Located on the North side, this spot doubles over as part-coffee, part-bar with plenty of seating and outdoor furniture. The atmosphere displayed this spot as being quiet yet sociable, emphasizing relaxation with the decorum; paintings of ‘slow-styled’ animals.
